FY2017 Access Increases in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (AIMS) Supplemental Funding Opportunity

Today, HRSA released a new funding opportunity for existing grantees under the health center program: FY2017 Access Increases in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (AIMS). The purpose of this funding is "to expand access to mental health services, and substance abuse services focusing on the treatment, prevention, and awareness of opioid abuse."

The award is up to $150,000. Here is the summary of funds:

  1. On-Going Funding - Of the total $75,000 allowed, $37,500 to support expansion of services related to mental health (hiring new staff); $37,500 to support expansion of substance abuse services focusing on the treatment, prevention, and/or awareness of opioid abuse.
  2. One-Time Funding - up to $75,000 for health IT and/or training investments that will support the expansion of mental health services and substance abuse services focusing on the treatment, prevention, and awareness of opioid abuse, and their integration into primary care. To request one-time funding, you must request the on-going funding portion.

You can file starting June 30th and you must submit your application by the July 26th 5:00 PM (EST) deadline. The entire process will be managed in the EHB.
